Your mission
The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for the overall invoicing, cash application, managing and maximizing repayments of customer deductions and timely management of all AR aging components. The Accounts Receivable Manager will also maintain and improve sustained cash flow through diligent and aggressive monitoring of our customer accounts. This role will direct initiatives to improve working capital, including account monitoring, and ensuring effective and efficient processing of AR functions. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and firmly direct the department. The goal is to effectively streamline billing and collections; optimizing collections and reimbursement to ensure accurate and compliant billing.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the entire Accounts Receivable department and the day-to-day activities.
- Research, develop and implement procedures to reduce the number of outstanding accounts.
- Maintain working knowledge of current credit and collection legal requirements.
- Implement processes and policies to ensure accurate invoicing.
- Improve communications and follow ups for outstanding and delinquent accounts.
- Create effective SOPs to monitor and negotiate payments or final demand of payment.
- Manage outside Collection and Credit Agency partners.
- Own the service request approval or rejection policy including credit references on customers.
- Liaise with all business unit Leaders, ensuring best return as possible on accounts.
- Establish, track and report on metrics and KPIs for Credit and Collection efforts.
Your profile
Experience and Education
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting Finance, or related field and 3-5 years in corporate Accounts Receivable and Collections
- 2+ years leading, supervising, and developing Accounts Receivable and Collections team
- Experience in manufacturing is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with computer accounting systems; JDE experience is a plus
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel
- Strong strategic thinking and good organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with staff at various levels. Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- High proficiency in Databases, MS office including advanced Excel as well as credit and collection systems
- A keen eye for detail with an analytical approach and great math skills
- Good verbal and communication skills
