Your mission

As the Director of Brand Management, you will manage and develop Dorel Juvenile’s award-winning mainline family of brands: Safety1st, Cosco, Monbebe, and Disney Baby. This role is responsible for crafting business strategies that raise brand awareness, drive customer growth, improve consumer loyalty, and generate revenue. As a digital-first problem solver, creative consumer marketer, and brand developer, you will help inform product development, guide the go-to market playbook, and lead marketing strategy and activation across our portfolio of brands. You will be responsible for leading the team that develops and implements long-term brand health and sustainable share growth, demonstrating a deep understanding of consumer behavior and preference, translating that into bold strategies and plans that will breakthrough a highly competitive industry to be successful, you will inspire data informed, results-driven teamwork, and thrive at working cross-functionally and with a complex set of channels.

Key responsibilities

• Champion research to assess current brand positioning, competitive landscapes, industry trends, and market share to develop a strong sense of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve brand health and positioning for Safety 1st, Cosco, Monbebe, and Disney Baby. • Build a deep understanding of our target audience segments to inform strategies and optimal investment levels • Demonstrate insights on product line, brand, and category development • Drive brand strategy by establishing a vision for individual brand growth objectives and the family of brands unique and shared opportunities within the juvenile industry. Leverage insights and research to build marketing plans by brand and shepherd activation across all marketing touchpoints. • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to implement key brand initiatives, including finding innovative ways to grow the business and exceed goals, sell into our retail partners, and build an onramp to consumer’s digital footprint within our family of brands. • Work closely with brand and digital team SME on tactics and results for each brand based on brand health and distribution. • Partner with creative team to brief in brand campaigns or new product launches for internal agency or external partner creation. • Partner with sales, DTC, and channel marketing teams to understand business needs, retailer challenges and opportunities, and pitch to place the strongest presentation and sell thru tools for our brands. • Develop brand guidelines, new product launches, and asset toolkits for advertising and marketing communications • Align premier content and storytelling with strong commercial plans, driving to shelf execution • Support owned channel content as the expert on the brand and marketing partner bringing new products to market. • Establish and continually evaluate KPIs that benchmark brand equity; identify growth and positioning opportunities. • Exhibit data influenced decision making and the ability to flex from strategy to execution • Provide timely and consistent communication of brand activity and key information to internal business partners • Demonstrate a keen focus on delivering results with urgency and elevating new thinking / ideas that challenge the conventional. Lead by example owning your own brand. Coach and develop a growing team of three brand managers.

Education, Experience and Skills • 10+ more years’ experience in marketing, strategy, or planning roles within a large B2C brand • 4 or more years of experience managing a team • Expertise in brand strategy, strategic thinking & framing, and opportunity assessment • Experience working with multi-division or brand organizations with separate target audiences for each business unit • An excellent communicator and compelling storyteller, including experience presenting to - and being accountable for feedback from - with senior leaders • Ability to operate at both a strategic and executional level; ideate and directly execute • Highly adaptable and fluid, able to quickly learn about new businesses and customer segments • Collaborative to the core; you know how to build solid relationships across departments and with key stakeholders • Strong team/people leadership with an ability to inspire others to action and influence across functions and levels, including senior leadership.
