Your mission

The Shipping Office Specialist is responsible for communicating all shipping issues and inventory needs with warehouse supervisors, workers and customer service representatives. This is a first shift position (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) and will report directly to the Shipping Manager. 

Key responsibilities

  • Create picks, replenishments and re-suggesting picks in error
  • Provide superior service at dispatch window for drivers
  • Print LTL shipping documents, collate TL shipping documents and providing additional support as needed
  • Work closely with internal Shipping Planners
  • Communicate with carriers and drivers for outbound truck load shipments
  • Invoice customer shipments
  • Update and maintain accurate and timely shipping information through various internal communication methods (shipping display monitors, phone, email, etc.)
  • Notify Supervisors and floor leads of detention and live load issues
  • Participate daily with general housekeeping of warehouse
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures.

Your profile

Education, Licenses, and/or Certification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or higher preferred.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a shipping, receiving or customer service role; preferably in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Prior experience with an RF-based warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to prepare reports and compose correspondence as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel, Office Suite.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong familiarity with JD Edwards WMS
  • Ability to work in a team environment and nights/weekends as business requires.
