Dorel Juvenile commitment to Child Safety in Chile and Peru
At Dorel Juvenile, our mission to care for precious life extends beyond our innovative products, encompassing our commitment to child safety through various initiatives and campaigns. In Chile and Peru, our team works alongside public and private entities to empower parents with knowledge and raise awareness on the importance of correct car seat use, as trusted advocates for child safety.
Campaigns on Child Safety
Dorel Juvenile team collaborates with the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications in Chile to launch awareness campaigns focused on child safety and proper car seat use. The comprehensive campaigns promote safe driving practices, such as adhering to speed limits and avoiding distractions, but also emphasizes the critical importance of using car seats. Through engaging videos and visuals, we work alongside government agencies to reach a wider audience and educate parents.
Awareness on Press and Media
Throughout the year, Dorel Juvenile Chile and Peru engages in public relations efforts to raise awareness about child safety in the region. This includes media relations and participation in television and radio programs interviews about this topic. Certified technicians and spokespersons from the organization step forward in response to child-related accidents, to provide expert commentary, emphasizing the need for proper safety measures. By doing so, we aim to foster a greater understanding of proactive and preventive child safety measures among the public in Chile and Peru.

Certified Training Program
The commitment to child safety advocacy extends to our retail sales teams. As such, Dorel Juvenile Chile and Peru is partnering with the recognized Gonzalo Rodríguez Foundation from Uruguay for certified training in safe transportation practices. Currently, 25 team members are certified in child safety as Child Passenger Safety Technicians. The goal is having one certified individual per store across our 60 stores in Chile and 40 in Peru within the next two years. This training empowers our salesforce to provide accurate guidance on car seat safety and installation.

Car Seat Safety Check Points
To provide practical support to parents, we have established Car Seat Safety Check Points at Infanti stores in Chile, with a permanent Car Seat Checking Point at the Manquehue Infanti store and additional locations set up during peak seasons. These strategically located points offer free assistance in car seat installation and usage. Staffed by trained experts, these check points are designed to educate parents and ensure their children are safe while traveling.
Child Safety Advocacy
Dorel Juvenile also participates in various events to promote child safety laws. This year, the team in Chile and Peru attended the Child Safety LATAM Forum in El Salvador, where discussions focused on enhancing transportation safety for children across Latin America. In collaboration with the Gonzalo Rodríguez Foundation, our team contributed to the development of training sessions aimed at equipping participants with vital knowledge and skills for improving child safety on the roads.
The forum, known as the Fifth International Child Road Safety Forum (FISEVI 2024), was organized by the Gonzalo Rodríguez Foundation and the Government of El Salvador. It brought together road safety authorities from several Latin American countries, including Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Panama, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. The event featured over 60 presentations and workshops aimed at sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices in child road safety, including a declaration of commitment to the goals of the UN’s Global Road Safety Plan.
Collaborative Efforts for Road Safety
These initiatives are part of our close collaboration with CONASET in Chile, the National Commission of Traffic Safety under the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, to develop and implement road safety strategies. Dorel Juvenile Chile is the sole retail entity participating in the Road Safety Pact (Pacto por la Seguridad Vial), a crucial component of Chile's National Traffic Safety Strategy focused on strengthening road safety. This collaboration is essential in working towards safer roads for all, reflecting our commitment to child safety mobility worldwide.
Aligned with the United Nations’ Global Road Safety Plan and the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 that aims to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030, our organization is committed to raising awareness about child safety. By joining forces with public stakeholders, we contribute to the global effort of making roads safer for the little ones.
We are dedicated to our role as a trusted partner for families worldwide by empowering parents on their parenting journey and promoting safer mobility experiences for children.
